  • Location: Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, University of Warsaw, Poland
  • Webpage: TBA
  • Time: 2014-03-14 Fri 2014-03-15 Sat
  • Dates
    • 2014-01-15 Wed — paper submission
    • 2014-02-01 Sat — notification of acceptance
    • 2014-02-28 Fri — early registration deadline

More information

The aim of the Workshop is to bring together scholars from Poland and abroad who specialize in game theory and social choice, including their computational aspects. The Workshop will provide them with a forum for presenting their research to an audience with expertise in computer science and economics, as well as for informal discussions. Apart from technical sessions, the Workshop will include plenary talks by invited speakers and a poster session. The plenary talks will be delivered by:

  • Edith Elkind — University of Oxford
  • Piotr Faliszewski — AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow

We hope that the workshop will contribute to further popularization of the game theory and social choice in Poland.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • solution concepts in game theory
  • social choice theory and computational social choice theory
  • joint decision making and voting
  • matching
  • cooperative games
  • market and economics based cooperation
  • game theoretic approach to network analysis
  • mechanism design
  • auction algorithms and analysis
  • internet economics

Industrial application works and position papers presenting novel ideas, issues, challenges and directions are also welcome. It is expected that accepted papers will be presented at the workshop by one of the authors.

Both extended abstracts and full papers are welcome (there is no page limit in any of formats).

More information

SING10 is the tenth in a series of Spain-Italy-Netherlands Meetings on Game Theory. The conference offers the opportunity for institutes, research centres and scientists to share their latest investigations, research, developments and ideas in the area of Game Theory, which covers a huge range of topics. SING10 will give a deeper insight and a vigorous exchange of ideas about emerging research areas in Game Theory. The official language of the meeting is English.

Authors are invited to submit theoretical and applied papers in all areas of Game Theory to SING10. Participants willing to present a paper are asked to submit an abstract of the paper. Abstracts should be submitted through the Easychair conference management system in PDF format only and should not exceed 400 words. Each participant can present at most one paper at the conference. All papers and presentations must be in English.

Dynamic Games and Applications

Special Issue on Dynamic Games in Social Networks

Guest Editors:

  • Eitan Altman, INRIA, France, eitan.altman@inria.fr
  • Francesco De Pellegrini, CREATE-NET, Italy, francesco.depellegrini@create-net.org
  • Anurag Kumar, Indian Institute of Science, anurag@ece.iisc.ernet.in

Social Networks have, in the recent years, had an important role in social and political transformation, and in the emergence of new cultural and artistic expression forms. They have resulted in huge economic activity in areas such as targeted advertisement and marketing (e.g., those performed by platforms such as Google, Facebook), opinion detection (e.g., several indicators derived by Twitter data).

The deployment of social networks raises many new scientific and engineering challenges and questions. This special issue seeks contributions that use dynamic game theory to study economic and engineering aspects of social networks and may help both to justify empirical evidence and the design of those platforms.

In 2015, Dynamic Games and Applications will publish a special issue concerning recent work in this very active area of research. This special issue welcomes submissions from theoreticians and applied researchers working on all aspects of dynamic games in social networks. In particular, we are interested in (but not limited to) papers concerned with the following areas:

  • Advertisement and marketing with social networks (SNs)
  • Modeling competition among SN users over resources
  • Cooperative game approaches for network formation
  • Competition and cooperation between different SNs
  • Game theoretic issues related to groups, timelines, and walls
  • Competition over influence in SNs
  • Zero-sum games for studying epidemic spread of adversarial content and protection against such content

Dates

  • Submission Deadline — 2014-03-30 Sun ( Earlier submission is encouraged, and papers will appear online following acceptance in advance of the production of the full special issue.)
  • Publication Date — 2015-09-30 Wed
